There are several types of bobbins on the market. Using the incorrect size and type of bobbin can affect stitch quality and could possibly damage the machine. Clearly visible, the standard Janome bobbin has an embossed letter “J” and have been specially designed to work with a Janome machine. With the addition of a special rubber compound to the clear resin, this improves performance and reduces noise. The clear bobbin comes standard with most Janome sewing machines except the 1600P, HD9, MB4 & MB7 series machines which require a larger metal bobbin for high speed sewing machines.
