Low in store inventory, may be subject to change

How do you know if your sewing machine is high or low shank? If the length from the bottom of the presser foot to the center of the screw is less than half an inch, you can use a low-shack machine. If you measure more than 1 inch, you have a machine that has high shanks. If you own a Singer machine that has a length of less than 1 inch, you might own a slant shank, but they are very rare.
