It is available for BERNINA machines that have a maximum stitch width of 9mm. The foot print of the sole fits perfectly with the feeding system for the most accurate feeding and stitching when piecing patchwork blocks on a 9mm BERNINA machine.
Workaround for Foot #97 / #97D
Owners of BERNINA sewing machines, in which the foot #97 / #97D is not yet integrated in the firmware, can use it anyhow, by selecting the foot #37 / #57 or #37D / #57D.
Optional move-able seam guide
The Patchwork Foot #97 has an optional move-able seam guide. If the Patchwork Foot #97 comes as a standard accessory with a BERNINA machine, then the seam guide has to be bought separately. The seam guide aids in sewing perfectly straight ¼" seams. Especially helpful for beginners, this guide also offers extra insurance to experienced piecers. The Straight Stitch Plate is recommended to be used in conjunction with the Patchwork Foot.
